Quantum Machine Learning (QML) is a term that is primarily at home in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Smart Data, as well as Digital Transformation. QML combines the capabilities of machine learning – i.e., the ability of computers to learn from data – with the novel computing power of quantum computers.

Imagine you own a large company and want to analyse vast amounts of customer data to identify trends even faster than you do today. Traditional computers often hit their limits because they take a very long time for complex calculations. However, Quantum Machine Learning uses the special rules of quantum physics to perform many calculations simultaneously. This makes analyses much faster and opens up entirely new possibilities for data-driven decisions.

A clear example: In the financial sector, Quantum Machine Learning could help to detect fraud patterns in real-time or make better investment decisions by examining many more scenarios than previously possible. In this way, Quantum Machine Learning supports companies in handling their data even more smartly and remaining competitive.
