Big Data Analytics (Glossary)

Big Data Analytics is at home in the areas of Big Data and Smart Data, Digital Transformation, and Artificial Intelligence. This term describes methods with which huge amounts of digital data are analysed in order to gain useful insights from them.

Imagine your company collects thousands of pieces of information every day, such as customer data, orders or website visits. Big data analytics helps to find patterns and correlations in this huge mountain of data that the human eye alone would never recognise. This enables companies to recognise trends at an early stage, make better business decisions or create individual offers for their customers.

An everyday example: An online shop uses Big Data Analytics to understand which products are popular and when most orders come in. This allows them to design inventory management more efficiently and launch targeted promotional campaigns. For decision-makers, this means: Big Data Analytics makes companies more flexible, more competitive, and helps them react to market changes more quickly.
