The simulation of swarm robots is primarily used in the fields of artificial intelligence, automation, and robotics. Swarm robots are many small robots that work together on a task – similar to an ant swarm. Simulation helps to test the behaviour of these robots in advance on a computer before they are deployed in the real world.

Different scenarios are designed for this, for example, how robots can independently search a large field for lost items or clean a warehouse together. In the simulation, you can see how the robots communicate and cooperate with each other, solve problems, or avoid obstacles. This allows experts to find out what works well and what needs to be improved, without needing actual robots.

A clear example: In large warehouses, hundreds of small swarm robots can be optimally coordinated with the help of simulations to find products faster and put them in the right place. Simulating swarm robots therefore saves time and money, and makes planning safer because errors can be identified and corrected in advance.
