Human-AI Teams (Glossary)

(1272)

The term human-AI teams is primarily at home in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and HR work and teams. It describes the collaboration of humans and artificial intelligence (AI) in mixed teams to achieve better results together.

While AI can analyse huge amounts of data and recognise patterns faster than humans, humans bring creativity, experience and social skills. In a human-AI team, AI supports humans, for example, by analyzing data or taking over routine tasks. Humans, in turn, make decisions, communicate with customers, or develop new ideas.

A vivid example: In a modern customer service team, software automatically categorises customer enquiries and makes suggestions. Employees use these suggestions to respond to customers more quickly. This allows simple enquiries to be processed automatically, while complex cases continue to be resolved by humans.

Human-AI teams enable companies to work more efficiently, find better solutions, and adapt more quickly to change. Such teams are a key factor for success, especially in digitalisation.
