Neural Architecture Search (NAS) (Glossary)

Neural Architecture Search (NAS) belongs to the category of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation. NAS describes an automated process whereby Artificial Intelligence (AI) independently finds the best structure for neural networks. Instead of humans painstakingly trying out how to best build an artificial brain, NAS takes over this task.

This works similarly to a search for the best blueprint. The AI tests many different compositions of layers and connections to optimally align a neural network for a specific task. This saves a lot of time and human effort because the process is automated.

A clear example: A company wants to develop an AI model that automatically recognises and categorises product images. Instead of manually testing different models for months, it relies on Neural Architecture Search. The NAS technology tries out various networks and ultimately delivers a particularly well-functioning design – and in a much shorter time.

Through Neural Architecture Search, companies can quickly and efficiently develop high-performance AI solutions without requiring deep AI expertise. This makes modern Artificial Intelligence more accessible to many industries and accelerates Digital Transformation.
