The term multi-view robotics perception is mainly found in the fields of robotics, artificial intelligence, and industry and Industry 4.0. It describes the ability of robots to perceive and understand their surroundings from multiple viewpoints simultaneously. Thanks to modern cameras and sensors, a robot can collect images and data from different perspectives and put together a holistic picture of the situation.
This allows the robot not only to „see“ from the front or one side, but to perceive complex scenes in 3D. This is particularly important when the robot needs to perform precise tasks or move safely – for example, in a warehouse where it navigates between shelves and people.
A clear example: Imagine a robot in a car factory that needs to assemble parts. It must precisely recognise the position of each individual component. Thanks to multi-view robotic perception, the robot can view the part from several angles, thereby avoiding errors. This greatly increases efficiency and safety in modern factories.
