Fuzzy Logic in AI (Glossary)

Fuzzy Logic in AI belongs to the world of Artificial Intelligence, automation and Industry 4.0. This technique helps machines to think similarly to humans – not just in black and white, but also in shades of grey. While traditional computers can only distinguish between „yes“ and „no“, Fuzzy Logic allows for many intermediate stages. For example, a computer can not only say whether it is „hot“ or „cold“, but also „a bit warm“.

This is particularly useful in process automation. Imagine an air conditioner not only detecting if the room is too warm or too cold, but also being able to fine-tune the temperature and react more flexibly. Fuzzy logic in AI is often used today in washing machines, vacuum cleaners, or industrial robots to control tasks more smartly and efficiently.

In short, Fuzzy Logic in AI enables machines to mimic human-like thinking, thereby making better decisions in complex situations. This helps to optimise processes and make technology more user-friendly and intelligent.
