Entertainment Robots (Glossary)

(1026)

The term entertainment robot is primarily found in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Society, and Robotics. An entertainment robot is a specially designed robot that serves to entertain people. Such robots can speak, dance, sing, or play small games, and are often used in homes, at events, or in leisure facilities.

Unlike industrial robots, which handle heavy tasks, entertainment robots are primarily designed for fun and interaction with people. They use sensors, cameras, and sometimes even AI to react to people and respond to their desires.

A well-known example of an entertainment robot is „Aibo,“ the robot dog. Aibo can bark, follow commands, and even show emotions. People love it because it seems like a real pet, but it doesn't have to replace a real dog.

Entertainment robots are becoming increasingly popular because they offer exciting experiences not only for children but also for adults. They demonstrate how robots enrich our daily lives while simultaneously driving technological progress in digital society.
