AutoML (Automated Machine Learning) is a term from the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Smart Data, as well as Digital Transformation. It describes the automation of processes that previously only experts could carry out – namely the development, selection and optimisation of so-called machine learning models.

Data scientists normally need a lot of experience to recognise patterns in large datasets and make predictions or decisions based on them. However, with AutoML, this can also be done without deep expert knowledge. Special software takes over many individual steps, such as data cleaning, selecting the appropriate methods, and fine-tuning the models.

A simple example: An online retailer wants to predict which products will sell best. With AutoML, the company can use an analysis tool without expensive experts, which analyses existing sales data, automatically creates a suitable forecasting model, and precisely adapts it. This way, valuable knowledge is gained from data more quickly and easily.

AutoML (Automated Machine Learning) makes access to Artificial Intelligence much easier and supports companies in making data-driven decisions – even without specialist knowledge in data analysis.
