AI Security Testing (Glossary)

The term „AI security testing“ belongs to the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Cybercrime and Cybersecurity, and Digital Transformation.

Security testing for AI refers to checks that ensure Artificial Intelligence (AI) works safely and reliably in software, apps, or machines. They are intended to prevent AI from making dangerous errors, being hacked, or making undesirable decisions.

Imagine a car with self-driving technology uses an AI. Safety tests for AI, for example, check if the car reacts correctly in a dangerous situation and does not make unforeseen decisions that could endanger people.

However, such security tests do not only check the behaviour of the AI, but also whether data is stored securely and cannot be stolen or manipulated by cybercriminals. They also help to identify biases in the algorithms so that AI does not treat anyone unfairly.

Safety testing for AI is therefore an important step in building trust in new digital technologies and reducing risks in everyday life or in business.
