Augmented Workforce (Glossary)

(755)

The term augmented workforce belongs to the categories of artificial intelligence, automation and HR work and teams. It describes a working world in which people and intelligent machines work closely together. It is not about robots replacing people, but about them supporting and supplementing work.

For example, many companies today use smart software that suggests improvements to workflows or automates routine tasks. In a warehouse, an employee could pack parcels faster with the support of robots. While the robot lifts heavy loads, the human ensures quality control and contributes their own ideas.

The augmented workforce increases efficiency and gives employees more scope for creative or strategic tasks. The aim is a combination of human experience and technical intelligence, from which both sides benefit. This allows companies to react more flexibly and overcome challenges more effectively.
