In recent years, we have Podcasts developed into a new form of distributing audio content for a broad, international audience. Podcasts are particularly popular with younger listeners and digital natives and are especially well-suited for long audio content such as interviews and lectures that delve deeper into specific topics or special interests than is usually possible with radio formats aimed at the general public. According to the most recent Digital News Report The Reuters Institute found that more than a third of respondents from 22 countries had listened to a podcast in the month before the survey, with varying levels of penetration across markets.
