The term Smart Home is primarily at home in the areas of automation, the Internet of Things, and digital transformation. A Smart Home refers to a home in which various devices, such as lights, heating, roller shutters, or even kitchen appliances, are automatically networked and often controlled via smartphone, tablet, or voice command.
The aim of a smart home is to make life more comfortable, safer and often more energy-efficient. Using sensors and intelligent control systems, the house knows, for example, when no one is at home and automatically switches off the lights or heating. Or it detects via motion sensors when someone arrives home and ensures that the hallway is already illuminated.
A good example: You're sitting on the sofa and notice it's getting colder outside. With a smart home, you can simply turn up the heating via an app without getting up. Or you can program the system so that it automatically detects when it needs to heat.
Smart home technologies are therefore an important part of modern living concepts and help to make everyday life easier and more energy-efficient.
