The term Metaverse is primarily situated within the fields of digital society, virtual and augmented reality, and digital transformation. Simply put, the Metaverse describes a digital parallel universe where people can interact, work, play, or shop together with the help of avatars. It's like a blend of the internet and a video game, but all in 3D and often experienced using virtual reality headsets.

In the metaverse, companies can, for example, hold virtual conferences where participants meet not only via video but as digital avatars in a virtual space. Virtual shops are also growing: customers can view and try out products in 3D stores and buy them directly without leaving their homes.

A vivid example: Imagine putting on a VR headset and attending a concert in a virtual city. You talk to other fans there, buy merchandise – all digital, yet very realistic.

The metaverse is constantly evolving, offering new opportunities for businesses and users for encounters, collaboration, and commerce on the internet of tomorrow.
