MRK (Human-Robot Collaboration) is primarily at home in the fields of industry and Industry 4.0, automation, and robotics. Here, MRK describes the close collaboration between humans and robots in a shared work environment. In contrast to classic industrial robots, which operate in enclosed safety zones, with MRK, humans and robots can work directly alongside each other.

The aim of human-robot collaboration is to combine the strengths of both partners: humans bring flexibility and problem-solving skills, while robots take on tasks that are precise, difficult, or monotonous. Through the use of sensors and safety mechanisms, it is ensured that this collaboration proceeds safely.

A clear example: In a car factory, a collaborative robot lifts heavy car bodies while a worker simultaneously fits screws. The robot uses sensors to immediately detect when a hand approaches and automatically stops to prevent injuries.

MRK enhances efficiency, relieves employees of physically demanding tasks, and makes production processes more flexible. This makes human-robot collaboration a key component of modern, digitised industry.
