Human-AI Interaction Interfaces (Glossary)

The term „Interactive Human-AI Interfaces“ originates from the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation, and Industry and Industry 4.0. It describes digital touchpoints where humans and Artificial Intelligence (AI) communicate and collaborate directly.

With interfaces like these, it's not just about a human giving commands to AI, but about both learning from each other and reacting to each other flexibly. The AI adapts to the user's behaviour or desires, and humans can directly influence decisions or processes.

A vivid example of this is an intelligent assistant system in a factory: Here, employees work side by side with AI-driven robots. The robots use sensors to detect when a human needs help – for instance, if a workpiece is heavy – and automatically offer support. At the same time, the human can provide feedback to the robot, such as how the task can be done better next time.

Interactive human-AI interfaces make collaboration safer, more efficient, and more personal. They are an important building block in making digital technologies easily accessible and usable for everyone.
