The term „energy-efficient AI training“ belongs to the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Industry and Industry 4.0, as well as Sustainability and Environment 4.0. It describes methods with which the training of artificial intelligences, i.e. the „learning“ of computers, consumes as little electricity and resources as possible.
When training AI normally, huge amounts of data are often processed, which requires a lot of electricity. This is expensive and damages the environment. Energy-efficient AI training aims to streamline this process. This can mean, for example, using better algorithms that learn faster and thus require less computing power, or using greener energy sources.
A clear example: A company wants to develop an AI that detects production errors. Instead of running thousands of hours of data on expensive servers, a method is chosen that requires less data and lowers energy consumption. This way, the company not only saves costs but also does something for the environment. Energy-efficient AI training thus combines modern technology with sustainable business practices.
