Reskilling is particularly relevant in the areas of Digital Transformation, HR Management and Teams, and Artificial Intelligence. In our increasingly digitalised world of work, reskilling means that employees learn new skills to keep pace with rapid changes. The goal is to prepare people for new tasks or professions that arise from technological change.

A typical example: In a company that has hitherto relied primarily on manual labour, part of the production is now being automated. Some activities will be eliminated as a result, but the company will suddenly need more experts for the control and maintenance of the machines. Employees whose old jobs are eliminated can learn how to operate the new machines or take on simple maintenance tasks as part of a reskilling programme.

Reskilling is not only a benefit for the individual, but also for companies. This is because it allows skilled professionals to be retained and avoids expensive new hires. At the same time, reskilling promotes motivation, as employees see that they continue to be in demand in the digital world.
