Compliance control is particularly important in the areas of cybercrime and cybersecurity, industry and Industry 4.0, as well as digital transformation. The term describes all measures and systems with which companies ensure that they comply with laws, rules, and internal regulations. The goal of compliance control is to prevent risks such as fines, damage to reputation, or even criminal offences.
In everyday life, this means, for example: A company installs software that constantly checks whether all employees are using secure passwords and that no confidential data is leaked externally. In addition, plans can be developed on how to react in an emergency – for example, in the event of a hacker attack.
Compliance control thus ensures that everyone in the company adheres to the rules of the game. This keeps the company on a secure footing, saves costs, and protects its good reputation. Particularly in highly regulated sectors such as industry or with sensitive customer data, well-functioning compliance control is indispensable.
