Capsule Networks belong to the world of Artificial Intelligence and are particularly used in the areas of Big Data and Smart Data, as well as in Digital Transformation. But what's behind it?
Simply put, Capsule Networks are a modern type of neural network that allows computers to recognise and understand images, text or other data even better. Unlike classic methods, Capsule Networks do not just analyse individual features, but also the relationships between these features. This makes them more robust against errors, for example, if an object in an image is slightly rotated or partially obscured.
A clear example: Traditional artificial intelligence can recognise a face in an image, but struggles to distinguish its precise orientation or individual facial expressions. Capsule Networks, however, not only identify that it's a face, but also recognise whether the person is smiling and where they are looking.
This opens up great potential for applications such as automatic image analysis, voice assistants, or medical diagnostics. Capsule networks therefore contribute to making Artificial Intelligence even more accurate and versatile.
