Trust makes you strong – A story from the Neflental
In the Neflental, the story begins on a special night. It's a frosty night, and the snowy forest lies perfectly still. The bare branches of the trees are adorned with sparkling frost. Snowflakes dance through the air, each one gleaming as if carrying a small memento within it. Above the valley hangs a bright full moon, and stars twinkle so brightly that even the snow-covered mountains reveal their silhouettes. From far below in the valley, a soft, fairy-tale-like bell peals can be heard.
In the middle of this magical night, Rosa Immergrün sets off. She wants to visit an important friend: the owl family that has guarded their gnarled stump at the edge of the forest for many generations. Their home is called Owl Watch. Many animals from all over the Neflental admire the owls, as they are considered very wise and brave.
The path through the frost night in the Neflental
Rosa Immergrün trudges bravely through the silver-white snow. The crystal lake glitters in the distance. Smoky grey shadows flit across the white field, and in the midnight blue of the sky the stars appear even brighter. Rosa hears the ringing of bells and breathes in the cold, clear air deeply. In the Neflental valley, some paths feel particularly long on such an icy night. But Rosa takes step by step, bravely moving forward, for trust makes one strong.
Sometimes something rustles in the fern or the snow crunches softly under her feet. But Rosa knows: if she relies on her heart and her friendship with the animals of the Neflental, she has nothing to fear. Trust makes you strong, she thinks again and again, and so she becomes braver with every minute. She reaches the owl's perch, while the chiming of bells still echoes lightly through the clear night.
Eulenwarte: Where wisdom and courage reside
The owls have gathered around the old tree stump. Their feathers appear silver in the frosty night. Rosa greets them kindly and explains why she has come. Lately, she sometimes feels uncertain when she is out in the dark. She asks the owls how to become brave and confident.
The oldest owl replies in a gentle voice: „Courage doesn't come from people fearing nothing. Courage grows when you venture into the unknown and keep going nonetheless.“ Another owl whispers: „Trust that you are never alone. Friends will help you when you need them. And you can always trust yourself.“
Rosa listens and realises that courage and trust are like two strong wings. The owls' words give her confidence. She knows that in the Neflental, no one is truly alone, because everyone helps each other. This also increases her self-confidence. The snowflakes around her sparkle and reflect the light of her newfound courage.
The return through the snowy forest
Strengthened and full of new energy, Rosa Immergrün heads home. The owls accompany her for a while, their wise gazes following her. Rosa takes away a feeling from the silver-white glow of the Neflental: trust makes you strong and helps you become brave. She feels her heart beating faster, this time not out of fear, but out of joy and a thirst for adventure.
On the way back, Rosa notices that the world appears even brighter. The bare branches glitter as if adorned with diamonds. The gentle blue of the night sky accompanies her. Again and again, she thinks of the owls and the words from the owl watch. You are stronger than uncertainty. Trust makes you strong in the Neflental!
