Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) primarily belongs in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation, and Digital Society.
AGI describes a form of Artificial Intelligence that thinks, learns, and solves problems very much like a human. In contrast to today's AI systems, which are specialised for specific tasks, Artificial General Intelligence could understand practically any problem and independently develop solutions, regardless of the field.
For example, imagine you had a digital assistant that could not only sort emails but also write a book, drive a car, or make medical diagnoses – all at a human level, without special reprogramming.
AGI would thus be a real milestone in Digital Transformation, as it could fundamentally change many professions and areas of life. To date, however, Artificial General Intelligence only exists as a research goal; current AI systems, such as chatbots or translation programs, are still far from achieving these capabilities. Nevertheless, the topic is already generating many discussions and questions about its influence on society and the economy.
