Warehouse robot (Glossary)

(663)

The term warehouse robot belongs to the fields of automation, industry and Industry 4.0, as well as robotics. Warehouse robots are special machines designed to move, sort, or store goods in warehouses and factories. They help companies make their operations faster and more efficient.

Unlike traditional, often laborious manual labour, warehouse robots take on tasks such as picking up and transporting boxes or pallets completely automatically. This reduces errors and allows employees to concentrate on other important activities.

A clear example of this is a large warehouse for an online shop: warehouse robots drive themselves through the aisles of shelves, retrieve specific products, and bring them to packing stations. This allows orders to be processed much faster. Warehouse robots are therefore a key to modern, future-proof logistics and contribute to goods arriving with the customer more quickly.
