Changing the world responsibly: A day in the Neflental

In the heart of the Neflental, where the summer air smells sweet of honey and rain, this story begins. The sun spreads its golden rays across the wide, shining heights. The light dances in amber hues upon the meadows, the mountains gleam like giant gemstones. Glistening rivers meander through the valley. By the water sit children and teenagers, laughing, chatting, and looking forward to the great Summer Solstice Celebration.

Rosa Immergrün and the Scent of the Heather Grove

In the midst of this summer, as Glanzhoch spreads its golden veils, Rosa Immergrün wanders along the edge of the Bernblütenhain. Everywhere the air is fragrant with warm honey and fresh summer rain. Birds chirp softly in the emerald-green bushes. Between the golden-yellow blossoms, butterflies flutter as if wanting to dance a race with the wind. Rosa Immergrün breathes in the magnificent scent deeply and thinks about how beautiful summer is in Neflental.

A task for the whole valley

Yet something is not right on this day. Some soft blossoms lie bent on the ground, and fine dust covers the edge of the clean river. Rosa Immergrün discovers an empty cup by the water and colourful pieces of paper, which were likely forgotten after a celebration. A sad butterfly sits on a flower that has been crushed under the weight of a cardboard box.

Rosa Immergrün stops. „We can't let the valley look like this,“ she says quietly to herself. „If we want our home to stay beautiful and clean, we have to take responsibility.“ Rosa Immergrün calls a few friends who are playing by the bank. Together, they get a basket. They collect the pieces of paper, carefully fish the cup out of the water, and gently place the crumpled petals back.

Changing the world of Neflental together

More and more children and young people gradually join Rosa Immergrün. They joke and laugh as they transform the Bernblütenhain (rose hip grove) back into a fragrant, golden carpet. On the riverbank, they find an old lantern and a piece of fabric. They craft new, small lanterns from these for the next celebration.

In the last light of the glittering sun, paper lanterns dance and come to life. In this moment, everyone understands: even something small can achieve great things when many take responsibility together. With simple steps, everyone can help – picking up rubbish, encouraging a friend to join in, or making sure no waste ends up in the river.

Shimmering bright in the Bernblossom Grove – A moment full of magic

In the evening, the shore is clean again. Gleaming high, it now shines with all the colours of the palette: radiant sun-gold, deep sapphire blue, luminous coral red, and fresh emerald green. Rosa Immergrün sits with her friends around the campfire. Above them, the light of the lanterns floats in the twilight, and cheerful singing echoes through the Neflental. Everyone feels it: together, each one carries a small piece of responsibility for the greater whole.

The residents of the Neflental are celebrating together that they have kept their valley clean and beautiful. It's sometimes as simple as that, changing the world with responsibility. Rosa Immergrün smiles and knows: Every day offers a new opportunity to do good.

What do we learn from this?

Taking responsibility won't just change the Neflental valley, but the whole world a little bit. You too can start paying attention to what you do. Together with your friends, this can become something truly great. This way, the world will remain colourful, clean, and beautiful – for all who come after us.
