Curiosity in the Neflental – A Special Adventure

There are many mysterious places in the Neflental. One of these is Klangstein, a single black monolith that rests in the middle of a clearing. When you touch it, a deep, vibrating hum sounds. Nobody in the valley knows exactly why this is. Some say it is magical. Others believe it guards a great secret.

On a warm summer evening, as the whole valley glowed in shades of ruby red, emerald, sunshine yellow and midnight blue, Rosa Immergrün walked past the lantern grove. Here, colourful lanterns hung between the tall, dark cedars. They swayed gently in the mild evening breeze. Beneath the trees sat people in festive clothes, drinking sweet nectar. Rosa heard their cheerful voices and the gentle clinking of glasses.

But on this day, she felt a tingling in her stomach. She was curious. Why did the sound stone make that mysterious humming sound? No one had dared to go there after sunset before. It was said that the stone hummed even deeper and louder at night. Others even said it could hear wishes.

How curiosity grows

Rosa Immergrün thought for a moment. She said goodbye to her friends by the Lantern Grove. With a small piece of sweet nectar in her pocket, she walked through meadows and forests. The lanterns cast colourful specks of light on her path. The crickets chirped. The stars began to twinkle.

The closer Rosa got to the soundstone, the more excited she felt. She was a little scared, but she was also determined. Her curiosity was now stronger than her fear. What if she discovered something amazing? What if the stone whispered a secret to her?

The brave step to the sound stone

Suddenly she was there. The black monolith loomed darkly from the emerald grass. The moon shone through the branches. Rosa could hear the deep humming from far away. It sounded like a song coming from deep within the earth.

She stepped closer. Her heart hammered wildly. She carefully placed a hand on the soundstone. The next moment, a faint tingling flowed through her, almost like tiny ants. The humming grew stronger. Rosa listened intently. For a tiny moment, she felt as if she heard a melody – a melody that told of courage, friendship, and the beauty of the world. She felt joy and warmth in her heart.

Curiosity makes one strong and brave

The next morning, Rosa told her friends about the adventure. The others were surprised. Many wouldn't have dared to do it. But Rosa explained, „I was a little scared, but my curiosity was greater. I wanted to know for myself what the sound stone was all about.“

So everyone realised that curiosity makes you strong and brave. Because you then dare to do things you wouldn't otherwise attempt. Because you want to learn and grow. And because you can inspire others with your questions and adventures.

A festival in the lantern grove

That evening, the friends celebrated again in the Lantern Grove. They drank sweet nectar under the colourful lanterns. They laughed together and told each other stories. Lanterns of ruby red, emerald, sun yellow, and night blue glowed merrily between the cedars.

At heart, everyone had become a little more curious. They now knew that much wonderful could be discovered with open eyes and a brave heart. And that curiosity gives the strength to explore the unknown too.

What do we learn from this?

If you are curious and ask questions, you will become stronger and braver. You will break new ground, discover small and large wonders, and make your life more colourful. Just like Rosa Immergrün learned in the Neflental: If you remain curious, you will experience a new adventure every day.
