SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems are primarily encountered in the fields of automation, industry and Industry 4.0, as well as the Internet of Things. It is a system with which complex machines and plants can be monitored, controlled and automatically regulated.

A SCADA system collects data from sensors and machines in real time, transmits it to central computers, and makes it visible there. This allows employees, for example, to see if machines are running correctly, if maintenance is necessary, or if a problem is developing somewhere.

A typical example: In a modern beverage bottling plant, SCADA continuously monitors fill levels, temperatures, and pressures. Should a machine fail or a pump overheat, the system immediately raises an alarm. This allows for quick decisions to be made and automatic countermeasures to be taken – saving time, money, and preventing major damage.

So, SCADA is the digital eye and the protective hand in industrial production. Thanks to this technology, everything runs more smoothly, safely, and efficiently. SCADA is virtually essential for every modern factory or plant today.
