Stories from the Neflental: Magically through the day with kindness

In the heart of the Nefel Valley, where magic and nature go hand in hand, Rosa Immergrün experienced a very special story one day. It was spring, and the air was filled with the scents of fresh grass and blooming hawthorn bushes. The moon stood kindly in the sky, for today a small festival was to take place in Moonlight Alley.

The start to the day in the Neflental

Rosa Immergrün strolled along Nightingale Walk. The narrow path wound its way through hawthorn bushes. The bushes were in full bloom, exuding a delicate, sweet scent. Above it all lay a palette of ivory, May green, sky blue, and gold. The nightingales sang so beautifully that even the trees seemed to listen in silence.

Suddenly, Rosa Immergrün heard soft sobbing. Behind a hawthorn bush sat a little Flossian. His blue cloth was torn, and his favourite acorn necklace lay in pieces on the ground. Rosa Immergrün kindly approached him. Instead of making fun of him or walking away, Rosa Immergrün knelt down, smiled, and said, „Can I help?“

Small gestures of politeness in the Neflental

The Flossian looked up. A warm feeling spread as Rosa Immergrün handed him a clean cloth and helped to repair the necklace. Together they collected small gold beads that glinted like sunbeams on the May green bushes. Soon the Flossian was smiling again, and the sadness vanished like mist in the sunlight.

Because Rosa Periwinkle had been so helpful, the Flossian thanked her politely. „You helped me when I was sad. Thank you for being there,“ he said kindly. Together they continued along Nightingale Way.

The Magic of Moonlight Alley

Later that day, they reached Moonlight Alley. It was a magical place. The narrow path was strewn with silver patches of light, dancing from the full moon onto the forest floor. On this particular night, the inhabitants of Whispering Dale were celebrating a small festival. Rose Periwinkle remembered the words of Grandma Periwinkle: „Politeness works like a spell that opens hearts.“

That's why Rosa Immergrün greeted everyone cheerfully and helped hang up the colourful lanterns. Time and again, Rosa Immergrün said „Please“ and „Thank you“. These words sounded like music to the ears of the other guests. For a moment, everyone paused, realising how lovely it is when someone is polite to them.

Making a big difference with small gestures in the Neflental

In the big circle around the campfire, Rosa Immergrün and her friends sat down next to each other. Everyone received a piece of golden mooncake. But when little Immergletscher arrived too late, there was no piece left for him. Rosa Immergrün carefully cut her own piece in half and gave Immergletscher half. Immediately, a smile lit up his face and he clapped his hands in delight.

This moment showed everyone: politeness isn't difficult. A friendly word, a sincere „thank you,“ or a little help can transform someone's day. Just like Rosa Immergrün in the Neflental was friendly and helpful on that spring day, you too can do something good every day.

What do we learn from this?

Through politeness and small gestures, we can make the world around us a little brighter. Whether you want to perform a big or small miracle – a smile, a kind word, or sharing with others often achieves more than you might think. Those who are polite and friendly in Neflental will also be met with politeness by others. And that feels simply magical.
