Stories from the Neflental: Showing Pride in Achievement

A new day begins in the Neflental. In the morning, a fine mist lies over the "Blütenwacht" (Flower Watch). Delicate pastel colours gleam everywhere. Cherry and violet blossoms shine in pink and lilac. The trees are old and covered with soft, lush moss. Fine spiderwebs glisten in the dew. Sometimes, quiet shadows of mythical creatures dart past, so quickly that you mustn't even blink. Among all these mysterious things, Rosa Immergrün awakens.

Today, Rosa Immergrün has set herself a lot of tasks. For weeks, Rosa has been practising weaving small, sparkling wreaths from fern fronds. A joint festival is to take place this afternoon at the Ahornfeuerlichtung. The maple trees there burn in bright red and orange, as if flames were dancing through the forest. Many inhabitants of the Neflental come and celebrate when autumn is at its most beautiful.

The Great Challenge on the Maple Fire Clearing

A few days ago, Rosa Immergrün was still sad. The first fern wreath looked crooked and wonky. The flowers wouldn't stay put, the light pastel colours suddenly seemed gloomy, and the green fern spiral kept falling apart. After a while, Rosa almost wanted to give up. But many friends from Neflental encouraged Rosa. „You can be proud of yourself. Every wreath gets better, you're learning!“ they said.

Rosa Immergrün continued to practice every morning during the flower vigil. The cool air and fresh dew made her feel lively. Soon Rosa felt her hands becoming more confident. More and more often, she managed to create a beautiful small flower wreath. The colours pink, lilac, green and pearl white danced in the wind. Sometimes Rosa paused, looked at the wreaths, and realised: „I'm getting better!“ This made Rosa proud.

Then came the big day. The sun rose slowly. The fog lifted, and the maple fire clearing already glowed from afar. Friends were gathered everywhere. They marvelled at the luminous trees and looked forward to the wreaths of pink periwinkle.

Celebrate success in the Neflental

Rosa Immergrün placed the best wreaths in the centre of the clearing. All the colours of autumn and the flower watch were now united there. Her friends clapped and praised Rosa. „Look what you've made from fern leaves and flowers! It's festive magic!“ cried one. Rosa felt a warm tickle in her tummy.

Sometimes it's hard to like your own work. But in the Neflental, everyone knows: small successes are special! They are to be celebrated. Even the shy mythical creatures from the Blossom Watch were attracted by Rosa's wreaths and looked at them in amazement.

After the festival, Rosa sought a quiet spot under the maple trees. Rosa smiled and said softly, „I've done it.“ Then there was the feeling of pride again, shining like warm light in her heart.

What do we learn from this?

In Neflental, everyone learns to be proud of their own achievements. It's good to celebrate others, but you're allowed to celebrate yourself too! When you try something, even if it doesn't work out at first, you get better. Successes are sometimes small, but important. Maybe friends help you, or you practice again. In the end, you can proudly say: „I did it!“ And you should celebrate that.
