Stories from the Neflental: Sustainability Explained Simply
In Neflental, we experience little miracles every day. Nature shows us how everything is connected. On a fresh spring morning, thick fog rolled over Wolkenbettwiese. The meadow lay so high that the fog slept on it like soft cotton wool. Rosa Immergrün carefully walked through the tall, dew-damp grass. She had an important task. Today, she wanted to show the other inhabitants how everyone can help protect Neflental.
Why is sustainability so important in the Neflental?
In the Neflental, everyone makes sure not to take more than nature can give. This way, the valley remains a good place for all living things. If someone fells a tree, they immediately plant a new one. Even when picking flowers or mushrooms, they always give something back. They drop seeds or water the plants with fresh water. This way, the balance is preserved, and everyone can enjoy the colourful meadows and forests. Rosa Immergrün knows exactly how important that is.
The journey to the violet glade - making a big difference with small steps
Rosa Immergrün set off for the violet glade. The glade lay hidden among ancient trees, covered with a fragrant carpet of purple violets and sun-yellow crocuses. In the middle stood an ancient statue. The sun sent delicate rays onto its moss-covered eyes, making it seem to smile kindly.
Many residents of the Neflental gathered here. They wanted to know how they could make the world a little better. Rosa Immergrün was delighted that everyone was present for the spring awakening. A few birds bathed in the golden light, and fresh green foliage shone everywhere. The air smelled of blossoms and dew.
Sustainability starts with each individual
Rosa Immergrün placed a few seeds on the ground. She explained that each tiny seed could grow into a large flower. „If we sow and plant today,“ she said, „we will harvest tomorrow.“ The others followed her lead. They sang songs and planted crocuses, violets, and young shrubs into the damp, soft moss. The colours of violet, leaf green, sunshine yellow, and pale pearly grey mingled all over the clearing.
Even small things count. The children collected rubbish that the last storm had blown onto the meadow. They watered thirsty plants with their little watering cans. Sometimes, simply treating animals, flowers, and trees with respect is enough. This is how the Neflental remains beautiful.
Together, we can all make a difference.
In the Neflental, the residents.
By the end of the day, the violet clearing was even more beautiful than before. The statue now looked directly into the sun. There was a gentle shimmer on the mossy stone and on the blossoms all around. Rosa Immergrün paused for a moment and took a deep breath. Thanks to everyone's help, a small miracle had happened.
What do we learn from this?
You don't have to be everywhere to save the world. Go out into nature, protect flowers, insects and trees. Plant something new or clean up your favourite place. Tell your friends about it and come up with your own ideas. In Neflental, Rosa Immergrün shows how much fun it is to live sustainably together. Step by step, our earth is getting a little better.
