Pride in Achievement: The Story from the Neflental

The Neflental was finally bathed in glory. The sun danced its rays across the vast summer plateau. The colours shone in sun-gold, sapphire blue, coral red and emerald green. Crystal-clear rivers sparkled like dancing sparks of fire, while on the banks many revellers sat around campfires. Lanterns floated above the twilight. It was the most beautiful time of the year. In the middle of the Neflental lay the Snapdragon Glade, a sunny meadow full of golden-yellow flowers. Their buds looked like little animal heads.

A special day in the shimmer

On this day, Rosa Immergrün wanted to do something particularly brave. For a long time, she had watched the colourful lanterns flutter between the treetops in the evenings. Everyone said it was difficult to make your own lantern that could later ascend into the golden twilight at the Festival of Sparks. But Rosa Immergrün was curious and really wanted to learn. She wanted to be proud of her achievement.

She collected golden snapdragons and delicate silk leaves from the riverbank. Of course, it wasn't easy – some leaves tore, sometimes she lacked an idea. But she didn't give up, even though the sun was already high and the other children were already splashing in the river. She remembered the wise words of the white elves in the Neflental: He who believes in himself can work small miracles. Rosa Immergrün kept trying, folding and knotting, until something of her own slowly began to emerge from the flowers and leaves.

Pride in one's own achievement

As the festival reached its peak, Rosa Immergrün brought her homemade lantern to the Snapdragon Glade. The golden-yellow flowers sparkled in the light. Many watched admiringly, having recognised how much effort Rosa Immergrün had invested. Even though some lanterns were brighter or bigger, her lantern floated the longest and shone like a little star above their heads.

The other children ran to Rosa Immergrün and wanted to know how she had created this light. She patiently explained every step. In the end, everyone tried to build lanterns from their own flowers and leaves. Soon, so many lights danced across the Snapdragon Glade that the summer evening felt even brighter. Everyone was proud of what they had created themselves.

Becoming an everyday hero in the Neflental

In the Nefl Valley, it's not just the great adventurers who are real heroes. Sometimes you're already one if you believe in yourself and try new things. Just like Rosa Immergrün, who built her lantern despite all the difficulties. Courage often simply means not giving up and trusting yourself. Perhaps you are also an everyday hero when you comfort a friend or dare to try something new.

The glow of summer still lingered long over the Snapdragon Clearing. Pink Periwinkle and her friends laughed, danced around the fires, and held their lanterns tight in their hands. And every time a light floated particularly high over the valley, they knew: one could be proud of one's achievements, no matter how small the beginning. Together they celebrated the Bright Night and their own small successes.

What do we learn from this?

In the Neflental, Rosa Immergrün shows us that with courage and perseverance, everyone can achieve their own heroic deeds. It doesn't matter if others are already better or faster. What's important is that you try and are proud of yourself. This way, every day becomes a little adventure, because everyday heroes live within all of us.
