Humour magic in the Neflental
On a fresh spring morning, the Neflental lay in soft May greenery. Golden sunbeams flickered between the trees. Everywhere, flowers bloomed in ivory and sky blue. Rosie the Periwinkle hopped merrily along Nightingale Path. The narrow track wound its way through blooming hawthorn bushes. Above their heads, the nightingales sang a joyous chirping song. Rosie had a plan. Today she wanted to put everyone in the valley in a really good mood. No one had ever tried anything like it before.
Magic that makes you laugh
Rosa Evergreen knew many spells, but she considered how humour magic worked best. She knew that laughter enchants. A smile can even banish the darkest thoughts and connect friends. That's why she wanted to celebrate a particularly wonderful festival with her humour magic. The inhabitants of Crystal Lake and even the Buchians in the Beech Forest were to be amazed.
The first challenge at the Owl Watchtower
At the edge of the forest stood the Owl Watch. It’s a gnarled tree stump where an owl family has lived for generations. Today, all the owls were awake, side by side, big and small. Rosa Evergreen greeted them with a cheerful “Good morning!”. But the owls seemed sleepy. No one laughed; they all just blinked slowly. So Rosa took out her special ball of humour magic.
She tossed the orb into the air, and it burst into a hundred tiny, glittering bubbles. Suddenly, colourful paper hats grew from the tips of the owls' wings. One little owl giggled, then they all laughed. Even the old eagle owl grunted with laughter because the hatband slipped over his eye. Now the mood at the owl perch was cheerful and relaxed.
Humour Magic on Nightingale Climb
The path then continued along the Nightingale Trail. The bushes glowed in May green and gold. Birdsong could be heard everywhere. Rosy Periwinkle met the Flossian children there, who were doing somersault after somersault on their way. But none of them managed to stay upright. Then Rosy showed what humour magic could do.
She snapped her fingers, and for a moment, everyone was wearing a pair of funny wellington boots that squeaked amusingly with every step. This led to loud snorts and wild cackles. Today, anything was possible, because humour magie connects and brings joy.
A festival of colours and laughter
In the afternoon, the Evergreens, the Buchians and the Flossians gathered on the Great Fern Meadow. Together they decorated everything with ribbons in sky blue, ivory and radiant gold. Pink Evergreen performed one last magic trick. She produced a hatful of sweets and tiny paper frogs. Every time someone snatched a sweet, a little frog hopped after it, croaking merrily.
Everyone was laughing so hard that even the trees were shaking. The nightingales sang along, and the owls from the owl aviary clapped their wings. The Neflental was full of joy, and everyone felt how wonderful it is to laugh together. Thus, humour magic spread everywhere and remained in the heart.
What do we learn from this?
Humour and magic create friendship and courage. Laughter connects the inhabitants of the Neflental. Everyone can make others happy by sharing joy. And sometimes a funny spell is enough for all worries to vanish. Life is this colourful and cheerful when one never forgets to laugh.
