Inner peace in the Nufenen Pass: the secret superpower that makes you strong
On a bright spring day in the Neflental, life awoke early. Birds chirped everywhere, and the leaves glistened with morning dew. Rosie Evergreen awoke, full of curiosity and drive. Today, a special adventure awaited her.
A mysterious place by the lake
On the shore of the Crystal Lake lay fairy reeds. The wide belt of reeds was home to tiny water sprites. When they wished, they would let the wind flute through the reeds, so that a gentle melody wafted over the water. Pink Periwinkle watched, fascinated, as silver wings flashed through the air. The water sprites smiled at her, for they knew: curiosity is the beginning of all adventures.
The Encounter on the Violet Clearing
Rosa Immergrün discovered that a small group of water elves had gathered in the clearing. The elves wanted to clean the statue, but they were too small. They called for help, for there is strength in numbers. Rosa Immergrün considered what to do. She could have completed the task by herself, because she was bigger. But instead, she knelt in the violet patch and asked: “How can I help you without disturbing your elf magic?”
Demute: Helping without appearing bigger
The water elves were astonished. “You could just take everything from us,” one of them said, “but you ask us. That is very kind.” So they made a plan. While the elves tied fine spider silk into small brushes, Rosa Immergrün collected the moss from the statue. The elves sang, letting the wind whistle melodies through the reeds in the fairy marsh. The cleaning team worked hand in hand and hand in wing.
It wasn't important at all who was the greatest or the fastest. Rosa Immergrün realised: humility means seeing the strengths of others and contributing – without showing off. Together they got the statue shining clean. The sun now reflected in the friendly eyes made of grey stone.
Together we are strong
As a thank you, the water elves held a feast. They brought violet honey and danced in a circle. The music wafted across the valley to the furthest corners of the fairy reeds. Even in the evening, the whistling of the reeds could be heard.
Rosa Immergrün felt cheerful and proud at the same time, but not because she had accomplished everything on her own. It was a warm, quiet feeling – as if she had discovered a secret superpower.
What do we learn from this?
Humility is stronger than showing off. Those who listen to others and support them are part of the great magic of life in the Neflental. You don't always have to be the hero to make life brighter. Help that comes from the heart is like sunshine on a cool morning – it warms everyone in the valley.
