The term assembly robot is primarily found in the fields of automation, robotics, and Industry & Industry 4.0. An assembly robot is a special type of industrial robot used to automatically assemble individual parts into a product. These machines perform tasks in modern manufacturing such as screwing, gluing, plugging, or even connecting delicate components – quickly, precisely, and around the clock.

A practical example: In the automotive industry, assembly robots are used to put together door panels. Whereas previously several employees along a production line would carry out different manual tasks, a robot now completes all assembly steps sequentially – and with consistent quality every time. The result is faster production times, fewer errors, and a safer working environment, as hazardous or monotonous tasks are automated.

Assembly robots are indispensable in modern factories; they help to reduce costs and make production processes more efficient. Companies benefit from more flexible manufacturing, as robots can be easily reprogrammed during product changes.
