Even though highly digitised work processes in industry may prove to be the future, they are not equally feasible for all companies. Large and medium-sized companies can provide the financial pre-requisites for implementation, but this may not be the case for small companies, where manual labour is generally more in demand in production.
The benefit to the company must always take precedence. An initiative like Industry 4.0 can create the conditions for an industrial future that makes it possible for every company to be competitive, satisfy customer wishes at the highest technical level, and prove itself successfully in the market.
