Industrial Manipulators (Glossary)

The term „industrial manipulators“ is primarily at home in the fields of Industry 4.0, automation, and robotics. Industrial manipulators are machines designed to take on tasks where humans often reach their physical limits. For example, they help to lift, move, or precisely position heavy or bulky objects.

These devices are used in many modern factories to make work processes safer, faster and more efficient. Industrial manipulators are often equipped with grippers and sensors that enable safe working. A well-known example is a car factory: here manipulators are used to precisely lift car doors or windscreens into the correct position, thus relieving the burden on employees and preventing injuries.

By using industrial manipulators, companies can optimise their production processes while simultaneously increasing workplace safety. They are an important building block on the way to the fully automated „factory of the future“.
