The term Remote Controlled Robots is primarily found in the fields of automation, industry and Industry 4.0, as well as robots in the home.
Remote-controlled robots are robots that can be controlled from a distance – for example, by radio, via the internet, or with special remote controls. This means a person can steer the robot precisely without having to be on-site themselves. This allows work to be carried out safely in dangerous, hard-to-reach, or simply uncomfortable locations.
A vivid example is their use in industry: in dangerous production facilities, remote-controlled robots are used to carry out maintenance work on machines, keeping employees safely at a distance. They are also used in rescue operations, for example, when robots are guided through rubble after accidents to search for survivors.
Remote-controlled robots save time, increase safety for people, and enable companies to complete tasks more efficiently. At the same time, they offer the flexibility to react quickly to changes in the production process or to unforeseen situations. Thus, they are an important building block of modern industry.
