Predictive security measures are particularly important in the areas of cybercrime and cybersecurity, industry and Industry 4.0, and the Internet of Things. This term describes all strategies and technologies that serve to detect and fend off dangers or attacks before any damage occurs. So, it's no longer just about reacting to threats, but about preventing them at an early stage.

A good example: modern production facilities in a factory are often connected to each other via the internet today. Predictive safety measures here mean that action is not only taken during an attack. Instead, intelligent sensors and software constantly monitor the facility for unusual activities – such as sudden data access or unexpected downtimes. If the system detects early on that a problem is looming, it can automatically initiate countermeasures, such as shutting down certain components or triggering an alarm.

This minimises production downtime and data loss. Companies can reliably protect their work processes and digital assets with proactive security measures – and significantly reduce the risk of costly damage.
