Was bedeutet Demut im Neflental?

The day begins quietly in the Neflental. Sunbeams dance on the fern, scattering golden sparks across the meadows. On a special spring day, Rosa Immergrün takes a walk on the amber beach. The waves roll in gently, bringing small pieces of amber with them. In each stone rests an ancient insect, captured in golden radiance. Everything feels especially calm and peaceful on the amber beach. Rosa listens to the rush of the water on the shore.

By the twilight river with rosy periwinkle

Behind the bushes gleams the twilight river. Its water shimmers in the evening in purple, hazy grey, silver, and rosé. Rosa Immergrün loves to throw stones into the water and watch the waves dance in the colourful light. But today she notices something else: a little river-dweller stands on the other bank. He is trying to pull a large mussel out of the water. The mussel doesn’t budge, no matter how hard he pulls.

Why humility helps

Rosa ponders what she can do. She knows many spells and tricks. But this time, it feels different. She doesn't call out loudly or wave wildly. Instead, she takes a deep breath and thinks calmly. Then, she carefully approaches the Flossian. Together, they sit by the edge of the Twilight River. Rosa asks softly, „Do you need help?“ The Flossian nods. He says that he absolutely wants the shell. However, he can't manage it alone. Rosa smiles and remarks, „Sometimes you need patience and a bit of humility.“

Together, we are stronger.

The two of them reach for the mussel together. They don’t pull with all their might. Instead, they consider how the water flows and when the waves will help. They observe how the tidal current sometimes flows stronger and sometimes weaker. After a while, they realise that waiting is important. With great patience and at the right moment, they free the mussel from the sand with ease. The Flossianer is astonished. He realises that one doesn’t always have to be the strongest. Sometimes, that’s exactly what makes a person truly strong: humility, patience, and solidarity.

The Secret Superpower in the Nefl Valley

On the way back from the amber beach, Rosa Everglade finds a particularly beautiful piece of amber. Inside there's a tiny dragonfly. Rosa thinks: Everyone in the Neflental has their own gifts. But humility is a secret superpower. It helps you listen to others, admit mistakes, and accomplish difficult things together. Rosa now knows: Showing humility doesn't mean you're weak. Quite the opposite! The greatest strength in Rosa Everglade's heart is that she keeps learning and letting herself be helped. That's why her friends love to visit Rosa so much. Everyone notices how special this strength is.
