Courage for the truth in the Neftal Valley
Spring begins in the Neflental. New flowers are blooming everywhere. The grass shines at the edge of the Emerald Ground. It looks as if someone has scattered gemstones on the ground, it is so green. Rosa Immergrün walks along the path this morning. The wind is warm and the sun caress es her cheeks.
Today she has an uncertain feeling. In her heart, she knows she must tell someone the truth today. But she's afraid of it. Will a friend be angry? Will someone be sad? Rosa Immergrün realises that honesty costs courage. And yet she knows: In the Neflental, they say that the truth is like a key. It opens doors to new adventures and to good friendships.
The Violet Clearing and the Great Secret
In the Nefl valley, there is a wonderful clearing, the Violet Clearing. Violets and crocuses grow here, and the moss smells sweet. In the middle stands an old statue. It is covered in soft moss, and the sunbeams make its eyes shimmer. Purple, yellow, and green colours dance in the sunlight. Pink periwinkle walks towards the statue. She knows she often thinks best here.
In her pocket, she carries a small, round stone. She found it yesterday by the river and took it with her. She absolutely wanted to keep it. But actually, it belongs to Mino, her friend, who lost it. Mino has been searching all day. Many friends are helping him, but no one can find the stone. Only Rosa knows where it is.
The courage to tell the truth
Rosa Immergrün remembers what the white elves always say: „Truth makes the heart light and the day bright.“ She sits down on the grass-green emerald ground and looks at the sparkling stone. It glimmers in pearl white and leaf green.
She hears voices. Mino and the other children come to the violet clearing. They are still looking for the stone. Rosa hesitates. She clutches the stone tightly in her hand. What will happen if she says now that she took it?
She stands up and calls out, „Mino? I need to tell you something.“ Her heart pounds loudly, knowing the truth is now difficult to speak. „I found your stone. I was curious and kept it. I'm sorry. I wanted to be honest and not stay silent any longer.“
Mino looks surprised at first. Then he smiles. „Thank you, Rosa. I'm glad you said it! It shows you are brave and trust me.“ The other friends clap and are happy for them. Nobody scolds them. They see that Rosa is honest, even though it wasn't easy.
This is how the Neflental will become even brighter
The sun now shines even warmer over the Emerald Dale. The Violet Glade appears brighter. Violet, sun-yellow, and leaf-green light radiates. Rosy Periwinkle feels much better. She knows that courage to speak the truth strengthens friendships. She laughs and plays with the others, for her heart is light once more.
What do we learn from this?
To be honest, it sometimes requires courage. But it's better to tell the truth, as it creates trust and joy. Even if we've made a mistake, we can admit it and learn from it. In the Neflental, Rosa Immergrün shows that the truth makes the world more colourful and beautiful.
