Collaborative Robots (Cobots) primarily find their place in the fields of automation, industry and Industry 4.0, as well as in robotics. Cobots are special robots designed to work directly and safely with humans. Unlike traditional industrial robots, which often work behind safety guards, cobots can be flexibly deployed alongside employees.
The great advantage of collaborative robots (cobots) is that they take on tasks that are strenuous, monotonous, or even dangerous for humans – without making the workplace unsafe. Thanks to sophisticated sensors and intelligent software, cobots recognise when a human is nearby and automatically stop or slow down their movements to prevent accidents.
A clear example: In a car factory, an employee and a cobot work together to fit doors onto car bodies. The cobot lifts the heavy component, while the employee precisely aligns and attaches it. This reduces physical strain and makes the work more efficient. Collaborative robots (cobots) help companies to produce more flexibly and to sensibly relieve employees.
