Mindfulness in the Neflental

The day is slowly dawning in the Neflental. Spring is showing its most beautiful side. It’s blossom watch, the time when everything is fragrant and glistening. In the early morning, a fine mist lies over the valley. The meadows are full of dewdrops, and the world shimmers in pastel pink, lilac, emerald green, and pearl white.

How Rosie the Periwinkle Learns Serenity

Rosa Immergrün wakes up, even before the sun sends its first ray over the mountains. She loves it when the Neflental is so quiet. But today, she feels a bit nervous. She has a lot to do. The Immergrüns want to collect the first cherry and violet blossoms for a festival. Rosa knows: everyone expects her to prepare everything perfectly. Suddenly, she feels her heart beating faster.

She sets off towards the Emerald Ground. There, the grass grows as green as if it were made of gemstones. The flowers gleam everywhere, and fine spiderwebs glitter in the dew. Little fairytale creatures are already flitting around her, still shy, but curious. Pink sees them, but she knows she must remain quiet now.

Little tricks to stay cool

Rosa remembers a simple trick for when everything feels like too much: she pauses for a moment. She takes a deep breath in, slowly counting to four. Then she breathes out again, slowly counting to four. With each breath, she feels the pressure lessen. The colours around her become clearer.

With calm movements, Rosa picks a sprig of periwinkle. She looks at the bright violet and the soft pink of the petals. She feels the cool air, smells the dew, and hears a bird singing in the distance. Everything feels lighter when she focuses on this moment.

Everything is better together

Soon Rosa notices that the other Evergreens are coming to help. They thank her for thinking of everything. Together they laugh and collect flowers. Some tell funny stories. Rosa no longer feels stressed. She realises she doesn't have to do everything alone.

Being mindful helps her today. She is enjoying every moment in Emerald Valley. She feels the grass beneath her feet and the gentle air on her face. The many colours around her make her happy and calm at the same time.

Mindfulness in everyday life

Blossom watch in the Neflental shows the pink periwinkle how important short breaks are. Simply standing still for a moment, closing your eyes, and taking a deep breath already helps. Those who feel the beauty around them do not get agitated so quickly.

At the end of the day, all the evergreens sit together in the grass. They eat and celebrate. Everyone has brought a flower that they found particularly beautiful. Rosa is happy. She now knows exactly: Even on an exciting day, she stays cool if she is mindful and knows a few tricks.

What do we learn from this?

It's the little things that help you stay calm in life. A deep breath, a pause, a beautiful picture, or a smile from a friend. Anyone can practice mindfulness, no matter how old they are. Why not try it for yourself – perhaps today, on your next walk, or when you feel agitated.
