In the Neflental, the story begins on a mild spring day. The sun gently tickles the noses of all the inhabitants of the fern meadows. Everywhere, there's a scent of fresh grass and green herbs. Pink Periwinkle joyfully leaps back and forth between tall bracken ferns. The wind rustles the fronds like a green sea. Small wooden houses with colourful herb gardens glow in the morning sun.

The first secret: The ability to listen

Rosa Immergrün hops over to her friend Jari, who is currently talking to his goats. She notices that Jari is quieter than usual today. Instead of asking what's wrong, Rosa Immergrün sits down in the damp grass and simply listens. This is how she learns that Jari's favourite goat has fallen ill. Rosa Immergrün holds Jari's hand and says, „I'm here, you can tell me anything.“ Jari now feels understood.

The second secret: To be honest

In the afternoon, Rosa Immergrün and her friends meet on the violet clearing. A carpet of violet blossoms lies on the ground. In the centre stands a mossy statue. Kira, a meadow gnome, is annoyed because she lost at riddling. Rosa Immergrün laughs briefly – but then realises it doesn't feel good. She honestly says: „I'm sorry. I didn't mean to laugh at you.“ Kira smiles and takes Rosa's hand.

The third secret: Always support

As a strong spring storm brews, all the gnomes run into their wooden houses. Lightning flashes, the wind howls through the fern meadows. Suddenly, Rose Evergreen notices a little chicken stuck out in the rain. She calls for help. Together with Jari, Rose Evergreen runs out into the storm. Together they rescue the chicken and bring it inside to warmth. In this way, they show how important it is to support true friends in need.

The Fourth Secret: Keeping Secrets

Later, Jari tells Rosa Immergrün a big secret. He found a badger cub in the fern forest. He’s afraid that others might harm the little animal. Rosa Immergrün promises to keep the secret. This shows that a true friend can be trusted.

The Fifth Secret: Laughing Together

In the evening, everyone sits on the violet clearing under the pearl-grey sky. Sunbeams sparkle in the mossy eyes of the statue. Pink Periwinkle invents a fun fern-feather game. Everyone laughs so much they almost roll off the grass. Laughing together makes friends even closer.

The Sixth Secret: Giving Honest Help

Soon Rosa Immergrün sees Kira struggling with the heavy buckets of water. She immediately runs over and helps carry them. Afterwards, Kira feels relieved and thanks her warmly. True friends notice when they are needed and help without hesitation.

The Seventh Secret: Dreaming Together

As the sun slowly sets, Rosa Periwinkle and her friends paint dreams in the air. They talk about next summer, new adventures, and the wonders of the fern meadows. Together, they make plans and build castles in the air with words. Dreaming connects them forever.
