A special day begins in the Neflental. Because today the grand autumn festival is to take place on the Tannenglutkuppe. Even in the morning, everyone can feel the exciting crackle in the air. The trees stand in the twilight, as the wind whirls the colourful leaves through the valley in the roar of the storm. Yellow, orange and purple dance together and look like a treasure of colours.

Rosa Immergrün bounces cheerfully across the damp meadow. Many residents of the Nefl valley want to help with the festival. Children and gnomes from all corners of the valley are already waiting on the Tannenglutkuppe. The fir trees always glow red in the evening, and right now, during the Stormsong, they gleam like torches in the soft light.

In the Neflental, no one is alone

Everyone in the Neflental knows: at the autumn festival, you have to stick together. Everyone brings something. Rosa Immergrün has collected berries, the neighbours are hauling wood, and large baskets full of mushrooms are arriving from the fern forest. It smells of cinnamon and copper as a cloud of misty grey drifts over the meadow and the first ghostly storytellers appear. Their tongues of flame tell old tales.

But this year is different. A strong wind is driving dense clouds. The fir-topped peak threatens to be engulfed by rain. Rosa Immergrün senses that a spirit of community is needed now. Together with everyone, she devises a clever plan.

Community spirit in the Neflental

Everyone in the Neflental is thinking together. How can the festival still succeed? Rosa Immergrün suggests weaving the dishevelled branches with strong fern leaves. The big ones help the little ones. They tie a windbreak out of branches and cover the ground with soft purple leaves. The storyteller flames remain, and their sparks dance brighter than ever in the misty grey.

Soon everyone will realise: when everyone in the Neflental works together, there's nothing they can't achieve. The fir trees on the summit now protect everyone from the storm. The campfire crackles while the wind continues to whistle outside. Rosa Immergrün distributes the berries, and her friends pass around steaming mushroom soup.

Together we are unbeatable in the Neflental.

The colours of the storm song glow brighter as the storytellers send their sparks into the air. In the light of the flames, the forest dwellers laugh as tales of courage and friendship warm them. Rosa Immergrün notices a feeling of contentment spreading. Such a community is found only in Neflental.

Late in the evening, as the mist quietly settles on the fields, the friends sit together on the fir-embers peak. The storytellers are still recounting tales of old times. Everyone knows: in the Neflental, you are never alone, because community makes anything possible.

What do we learn from this? Sticking together is the best thing there is. If everyone in the Neflental helps each other, they can overcome any storm. This way, the autumn festival will never be forgotten – and in our hearts, only one thing remains: Together, we are unbeatable!
