With perseverance, you can achieve anything – keep at it! A story from the Neflental
In the Neflental, there are many secret places, but few are as magical as the Bernblütenhain. On a warm spring day, as the golden-yellow blossoms release their scent of honey and summer rain, Rosa Immergrün sets off. She has a goal: she wants to find the secret path to the Veilchenlichtung. Many have tried before, but no one has yet seen the ancient statue with their own eyes.
The Honey Blossom Grove and a Grand Plan
Rosa Immergrün enters the Bernblossom Grove very early in the morning. Everything glows in sunny yellow. Bees dance from flower to flower. The scent makes her brave, because today she doesn't want to give up. Some animals accompany Rosa Immergrün for a while, but the path to the Violet Clearing is difficult. Branches block the path, thorns pinch her feet, and sometimes Rosa Immergrün loses her enthusiasm. She doubts and wants to turn back. But then she remembers: with perseverance, you can achieve anything – stick with it!
She puts one foot in front of the other. Again and again, she tells herself to be brave. The leaves rustle softly, and the sun casts green shadows on the ground. She walks like this for many hours until she finally sees something violet shimmering through the foliage.
The violet clearing calls
The path opens up and Rosa Immergrün stands amazed in the violet clearing. A carpet of violets and crocuses covers the ground. The purple of the flowers rivals the sunshine yellow of the spring sun. In the middle, she discovers the statue. It is covered in moss and its colour is pearly grey. Rosa Immergrün feels warm light falling on her face. Small sunbeams hit the statue's eyes precisely – as if it were waking up.
Rosa Immergrün immediately feels pride in herself. She succeeded because she persevered. She had many doubts, but she stuck with it. Now she can marvel at this secret, magical place. The flowers smell sweet and buzzing insects dance through the air. The colours of the violets, the green of the leaves and the pearly grey of the statue look like a painting. Rosa Immergrün sits there for a long time, looking at the statue again and again.
A gift for everyone who perseveres
Suddenly, something sparkled in the grass. Pink Periwinkle discovered a tiny feather, shimmering with all the colours of the rainbow. She picked it up. The feather felt warm. At that moment, Pink Periwinkle knew: the statue grants everyone who finds their way here with perseverance a memento of this special day. Pride and joy filled her heart. She knew immediately: once again, her efforts had paid off.
As Rosa Immergrün wanders back through the Bernblossom Grove, she feels light. The sun tickles her nose and the birds whistle songs of adventure. She thinks of all the others who might also have doubts at some point. Rosa Immergrün would most like to shout to them: With perseverance, you can achieve anything – stick with it! Because then you too can discover the most beautiful places!
What do we learn from this?
