Superpower Self-Control in the Nefl Valley
Every day begins with a special magic in the Neflental. Today everything feels even more mysterious because the Blossom Watch has a firm grip on the valley. Thick morning mist lies on the ground, making the air cool and soft. Bright cherry and violet blossoms bloom on the trees. Fine cobwebs glisten everywhere in the dew. Even small, shimmering mythical creatures dart between the trees as if they were from another world.
Rosa Immergrün sets off
Rosa Immergrün stands in a clearing, breathing in the fresh air. Today she wants to go to the Maple Fire Clearing. She has often heard that in autumn the trees there glow as beautifully as flames. The red and orange of the maple leaves can almost illuminate the entire valley because they shine so brightly. She is curious to see what it looks like there and sets off immediately.
On her way there, she meets many friends. Some are friendly, others are a bit curt today. But Rosa Immergrün doesn't let this ruffle her feathers. She knows it's sometimes better to stay calm, even if others might be grumpy.
How to Keep Periwinkle Cool
Suddenly she hears a loud thud. Two little Flossians are arguing at the edge of a stream. They are shouting and gesticulating with their arms because they both want to find the same glowing maple bark. Rosa Immergrün stops and takes a deep breath. She realises she can help now if she stays calm and balanced.
She addresses the Flossians in a quiet voice and asks them to be silent for a moment. She suggests that they can both use the bark in turns. The Flossians nod and calm down. The arguing stops because someone is there who uses their superpower of self-control. Rosa Immergrün notices that staying cool often already helps everyone to understand each other again.
The colourful maple fire clearing
After the short break, Rosa Evergreen continues. As she walks through the last gust of mist, she finally sees the Maplefire clearing before her. The trees are indeed glowing in every shade of orange imaginable. The leaves look as though flames are enchanting the forest. Rosa Evergreen sits down in the soft grass, still damp from dew drops.
Everything is peaceful here. Many animals quietly move through the red-gold light. Some evergreen friends also drop by. They tell stories and laugh together. Sometimes a cheeky fox dares to venture out of the bushes, but someone always stays calm – no matter what happens.
This is how anyone can learn self-control
Rosa Immergrün knows that it's not always easy to remain calm. Everyone has a bad day sometimes. When she notices her courage or patience waning, she slowly counts to ten. She thinks about the play of colours on the maple clearing, as that helps her to relax. She often imagines the blossoms of the cherry and violet trees in the valley arcade slowly awakening. These images give her strength.
Soon she'll be on her way back home. She'll meet old Buchians collecting mushrooms at the edge of the forest and small mythical creatures playing in the light. She'll smile at them all and feel strong because she knows: her superpower, self-control, helps her and the others.
What do we learn from this?
In the Neflental, the colours show how wonderful each day can be. Everyone feels that it's good to stay calm, even when things get difficult sometimes. With self-control and kind thoughts, many problems dissolve. Everyone has this superpower within them. You just have to think of the beautiful things in the valley and take a deep breath. Then the heart remains as calm as the flower watch in the early morning.
