Stories from the Neflental: Learning self-care in the glow of success

The splendor began in the Neflental. The sun sent golden and amber rays of light across the vast plateau. The flowers gleamed like little stars. On the banks of the crystal-clear lakes, the water sparkled in sapphire blue. Between the grasses, blossoms grew in coral red and emerald green. It was warm. The air smelled of honey and summer rain. Many inhabitants celebrated and laughed by the campfire. Lanterns floated in the evening air. It looked like a dream.

In the midst of the hustle and bustle, Rosa Immergrün sat at the edge of the Bernblossom grove. Here, under the golden-yellow blossoms, it was quiet and peaceful. The bees buzzed softly. The scent of the blossoms made her happy and a little pensive.

How Rosa Immergrün recognises what is truly important

Many animals and friends called out: „Come to us by the fire! Play with us, dance with us, tell stories!“ But Rosa Immergrün felt that she would rather be alone for a moment. She had been on the go all day. Her head was full of impressions and her feet a little tired. So she sat down on a warm stone and watched the flickering lanterns.

Sometimes, she thought, I have to look after myself, otherwise I'll be completely exhausted. She took a deep breath. The blossom grove felt like a safe cocoon. Here, everyone could enjoy the sweet scent of the blossoms, rest, and simply be happy.

Self-care – How to become your own best friend

Rosa Immergrün remembered the words of the white elves: „Take good care of yourself. Be kind to yourself, just as you are to your best friends.“ She smiled. So she stretched out her fingers and felt the soft grass beneath her hands. She stood up, shook off her tiredness, and quietly sang a song. Singing made her thoughts feel light.

At that moment, she realised: helping others brings joy. But it is just as important to listen to yourself and be kind to yourself. This way, everyone can be there for others even better.

What Rosa Immergrün takes away from it for herself

After her break, Rosa Immergrün felt refreshed and cheerful. She was ready to go back to her friends by the campfire. With every step, her heart grew lighter. The colourful lights and cheerful laughter on the shore drew her in like a magnet. She sat down with the others, laughed with them, and told them about her peaceful moment in the Bernblütenhain.

Because she had paid attention to herself for a moment, she could doubly enjoy the joy in the sparkling success. Her friends marvelled at how calm and happy she seemed. She explained: „Sometimes you just need a break for yourself. That's how you become your own best friend. Only then can you be there for others too!“

What do we learn from this?

Sometimes it's important to take a break. If you feel tired, find a quiet place like the Rose Garden. Breathe deeply and listen to your heart. Be kind to yourself. You are important. Only when you are feeling well can you bring joy to others – just like Rosa Immergrün in the Neflental during the Grand Wedding.
