The Neflentals and the Art of Respect
There's always something going on in the Neflental. Especially when spring drifts through the valley with its light, veil-like breath. The colours are everywhere: mist white, lilac, moss green and sometimes everything shimmers like ripe peaches in the meadows. The mists dance in the morning light and the people of the Neflental are preparing for the great spring festival.
An adventure begins
On such a cool spring morning, Rosa Immergrün sets off into Moonlight Alley. The path is narrow and bordered by ferns. Above her, the full moon's light shimmers in silver patches. The birds chirp softly. Rosa Immergrün whistles a song to them, and a little sparrow flies along beside her.
In the Neflental, there are always new friends to discover. Rosa Immergrün soon meets Brummel, the little mountain stone, who sits alone by the wayside. Brummel seems sad. Normally, he loves Rosa Immergrün's stories and always enjoys a laugh. But today, he looks down at the ground.
Why is Brummel feeling lonely?
Rosa Immergrün sits down next to Brummel. She asks kindly, „Would you like a piece of my honey bread?“ But Brummel says quietly, „The Flossians laughed at me this morning because I'm wearing mossy boots. I don't understand them. It's really annoyed me.“
In the Neflental, the question often arises: How do I stay calm when someone is being rude to me? Rosa Immergrün listens carefully because she knows that respect is especially important. She understands Brummels' feelings. Everyone wants to be taken seriously, even if their shoes are muddy or their voice is a bit off.
The power of a calm heart
It's easy to ponder, especially here in the Shroudwood, where mist and light merge. Rose Periwinkle suggests to Badger that they walk through the wet grass. „Come, let's look at the colours in the Shroudwood together. I can take a deep breath there when I'm cross.“
In Neflental, the friends learn that respect sometimes simply means listening, not laughing at others, and remaining friendly. Rosa Immergrün tells how she herself was once laughed at. The Flossians had noticed her muddy ankles. But she remained calm, took a deep breath, and kindly asked if they could play along.
Making friends with respect in the Neflental
In the pale mist of the Veilwood, the air feels delicate as silk. Rose Periwinkle and Bumble see the sunbeams and fine droplets glisten. Suddenly, the Flossians appear. There's a brief silence. Then Rose Periwinkle says, „It's lovely that you're here. We're just watching the mist play. Would you like to join us?“ She smiles genuinely and calmly.
The Flossians look taken aback at first, then they nod. One of them even mutters: „Your boots look particularly mossy today, Brummel. That's actually cool!“ They all laugh. What started as an argument turns into a new friendship.
What you can learn from the Neflental
In Neflental, Rosa Immergrün and her friends learn: you win friends by showing respect. This is how you stay cool – even if someone teases you. Those who listen, stay calm, and are friendly can turn small problems into wonderful things.
Rosa Immergrün knows: Everyone is welcome in Neflental, no matter how mossy their shoes or how off-key their song. In the mist of Schleierhain and on the silver path of Moonlight Alley, new friendships are formed when everyone treats each other openly and with respect.
What do we learn from this?
In Neflental, respect is more than just a word. With politeness, honest listening, and a calm heart, you will find true friends. Just remain friendly, like Rosa Immergrün does. Then you too will experience how beautiful and colourful life can be – not just in Neflental!
