Respect rocks in the Neflental: Adventures at the Water Lily Bay

It was blazing bright in the Neflental. The sun hung in the sky like a huge golden lantern. Its rays painted golden sparks on the smooth surfaces of lakes and rivers. Everywhere in the Neflental, water and leaves glittered in sun-gold, sapphire blue, coral red, and emerald green. Dragonflies buzzed in the warm air, and children from all the peoples of the valley frolicked in the meadows.

The Invitation to the Lilypad Bay

Rosa Immergrün had a special plan with her friends. They wanted to have a summer picnic at Lilypad Bay. In this quiet inlet of Crystal Lake, large, round leaves and delicate white blossoms grew. Colourful fish glided beneath the water's surface, and dragonflies with iridescent wings danced through the air. Rosa and her friends spread out a large blanket, and everyone brought their favourite food. All were invited – whether Immergrüns, Buchians, Bergsteins, Flossians, or elves.

When All Come Together

Gradually, more guests arrived. A river-dweller brought dried flowers, a clever book-dweller brought a delicious root cake, and a young mountain-dweller brought shiny crystal sweets. On the banks of Lilypad Bay, they laughed and played together. But then, a little evergreen-dweller heard two older mountain-dwellers whispering about a river-dweller. They were laughing because he spoke so differently. Little Rosa Evergreen didn't like that at all.

A moment for respect

Rosa Immergrün stood up. She looked at the two mountain stones, friendly but firm. „You know,“ she said, „no one is wrong just because they speak or look different. We are all different here in the Neflental. That's exactly what makes us so colourful and special.“ The sun reflected on the water, and for a while it was completely silent. The colourful lanterns began to dance gently in the wind.

The Flossian smiled shyly. For a long time, he had been afraid that other children wouldn't like him because he didn't talk much. But Rosa Immergrün showed him: respect for everyone makes us really cool and fair. She sat down next to him and let everyone have a sip from her colourful berry bottle. „When we respect each other, everyone can enjoy the summer. Then our party will really rock!“

Celebrating together is fun

At the edge of the lily pond, everyone sang a song. They danced in the setting sun, their shadows leaping across the golden water leaves. No one was laughed at anymore. The mountain dwellers apologised to the raft dweller and gave him a sparkling seashell. He beamed. Then everyone knew: whoever acts with heart and respect always belongs. Because respect rocks the whole Nefl valley!

What do we learn from this?

Respect means accepting everyone as they are. You're never too cool to be kind and fair. In the Neflental, everyone looks different, might speak differently, and laughs at different things. But if you're nice to everyone, you'll make many friends. Respect makes you strong, and with respect, every celebration rocks – no matter where you are.
