A Tale from the Nefl Valley: Punctuality – How to Become a Time Hero!
In the Neflental, the Lantern Grove came to life. Spring had painted the meadows in colour, and the cedars bore their green splendour. Between the dark branches hung lanterns in ruby red, emerald, sunshine yellow and night blue. A light evening breeze made them sway as the valley's inhabitants gathered beneath the trees. They laughed, talked and looked forward to the grand meeting that took place only once in spring.
The Grand Plan in the Neflental
That evening, an important guessing game was due to begin. In Neflental, most people were enthusiastically involved, because solving riddles is a lot of fun. But of all days, the meeting point was changed today. A messenger ran through the fern forest, shouting: „Come to the Lantern Grove! Wear your finest clothes! Time is short!“ Now everyone knew, the riddle game would soon start. This is the chance to become a Time Hero!
In Neflental, nobody wanted to be late. Rosa Immergrün heard the news first. She immediately jumped up, pulled her red-leafed scarf tighter around her shoulders, and stuffed her little treats into her colourful bag. Then she giggled and called out, „I want to be there first today! I'll show everyone how to be on time!“
Challenge on Spiegel Pass
The quickest way to the Lantern Wood led over the dreaded Mirror Pass. The mountain path was so smooth that it reflected the blue sky like a mirror. Every step had to be precise, otherwise one would slip on ice and snow. Many residents of the Nefel Valley hesitated, but Rosa Immergrün counted the minutes: „The more punctual I am, the greater my chance of becoming a true Time Hero!“
She grabbed a sturdy branch, concentrated, and placed one foot after the other. „Slowly and carefully, but also bravely,“ she thought, then even picked up speed as she saw the largest glistening patch at the Mirror Pass. She quickly realised that the path became easier the more she paid attention and thought ahead.
Friends are waiting in the lantern grove
In the Lantern Grove, the Buchians and Flossians were already waiting. They admired the lanterns, drank sweet nectar, and looked curiously into the evening sky. The game was due to start soon, but many were still missing. Rosa Immergrün darted across the meadow, laughing, „Neflental, I'm here – and on time, too!“
Everyone admired her, as so few had arrived this early. She explained, „I simply started everything on time. Because I hurried and found a clever shortcut, I was able to be on time.“ The others clapped enthusiastically and wanted to know how she had managed it.
So you too can become a time hero in the Neflental
Rosa Immergrün shared her tips with her curious friends: Start early enough, because sometimes an ice-slicked mirror pass can get in the way! Plan your route, consider if you can take a shortcut. Make a small list of what you want to take with you. Always remember: those who are prepared will arrive on time!
In Neflental, everyone realised that punctuality can be really fun. Everyone is happy when someone arrives on time. Rosa Immergrün became the Time Hero and even helped others get to the Lantern Grove on time afterwards. With a smile, she became a role model for punctual behaviour.
As the lanterns glowed in the gentle breeze and the guessing game began, everyone was ready. The day turned into a wonderful festival. This way, the Neflental showed that punctuality is something everyone can learn. Even small steps and good planning will make you a time hero!
