Determined pursuit of success in the Neflental

In Neflental, the high summer is the most beautiful time of the year. The sun paints golden patterns on meadows and trees, and in the warmth of summer, the rivers shimmer like precious stones. Lanterns float above the wide summer plateau, and cheerful voices mingle with the buzzing of bees. Every day is full of colours: sun-gold, sapphire-blue, coral-red, and emerald-green. But it’s not just the colours that make this time so special. Small miracles happen again and again, because anyone who has a dream and holds onto it can achieve the seemingly impossible in Neflental.

A grand goal in the Bernblossom Grove

In the heart of the valley lies the shimmering Bernblossom Grove. Here grow golden-yellow flowers, their scent reminiscent of honey and summer rain. Many inhabitants of the Neflenthal come to the grove during the Festival of Radiance to whisper wishes or celebrate feasts. But today, Rosa Immergrün had another reason to come here. She had a dream. She wanted to be the first to carry the festive flame through the grove during the Lichterlauf, the famous summer festival. Some said it was impossible because no one from her family had ever come this far. But Rosa did not let go of her dream.

The first step towards the goal

In the morning, as the sun shone like liquid gold on the Bernfleurs, she met up with the other children. She listened as the flame runners recounted how tiring and difficult the route to the Crystal Lake would be. Someone laughed and remarked that the path was full of hills and the water so sparkly that one could almost be blinded. Rosa thought about how long she had dreamt of running along. She smiled, stretched out her arms, and began to practise. Because dreams only come true when you take the first step and keep at it.

Practice, practice, and never give up

Every day, after breakfast, she would come to the Bernblüten Grove. She ran through the fragrant flowers, leaped nimbly over the little streams, and imagined how the light danced in the festival flame. It wasn't easy not to stumble or stop. At first, she often needed a break. But she knew: those who remain determined will become stronger and more confident. And so she continued to practise, day after day, always a little bit more.

The evening of the light run in the glow

On the evening of the great light run, the lanterns glowed in all colours over the water. On the bank, everyone sat dressed in bright colours around the campfires, telling stories. The sun bathed the valley in amber and gold. Rosa's excitement was great, but she took a deep breath and remembered: I've practiced, I can do this.

As the starting gun fired, Rosa set off at a brisk pace. She felt the glinting sand beneath her feet and the cheers of others. The golden-yellow amber flowers whizzed past her. Even as she grew tired and the path became steeper, she thought of her goal. For so many days she had dreamed of it, so often she had practised. Now it was time to give it her all.

Success – with determination to happiness

Rosa felt joy flood through her body as she arrived at the Crystal Lake with the festival flame. The flame was reflected in the water, and suddenly she knew why determination is so important. Anyone who truly wants something and keeps working for it can achieve their dream. Many cheered and celebrated with her, because everyone knew: Rosa had achieved her goal because she never gave up.

What do we learn from this?

Life isn't about achieving everything at once. It's important to take things step by step, stay brave, and keep going even when things get tough. With determination, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Don't get discouraged, trust in your strength, and believe in your dream. In the Neflental, when the sun shines in gold and amber and the alpine flowers smell sweet, everyone knows: those who don't give up can achieve great things!
